Makanan Laut Sedap di Umbai, Melaka (Great Seafood In Umbai, Malacca)

Assalamualaikum.....

Dah beberapa kali kita ceritakan tentang kedai No. 5 di Medan Ikan Bakar Umbai.

Sebelum Maghrib, dah gerak balik.

Seronok makan petang2 kat situ.

Selalunya udang mentega pakcik ni, bolen jer...hehehe. Maksudnya, kosong la..semata2 butter jer. Sarang2 semua tak ada. Tapi this time best sikit.

Kami laki bini kan pelanggan tetap, apa lagi... Bagitau jer lah. Dia kata dia ada ambik cook baru, combine dengan cook sedia ada dan diorang come up dengan hasil yang baru. Marbeles....!!! Lepas ni kalau makan kat sini lagi..lebih berbaloi2.

English Version

I had been writing about seafood stalls in Umbai Malacca for ages now. The same stall No. 5 with carry the name of Kedai Kita. The Umbai seafood stalls are not the one located at the new floating restaurants. These stalls are near to the jetty to Besar Island.

This Kedai Kita stall has never disappoint us. So when my brother and sister came down do Malacca with our parents to have a seafood feast, they and us has the same wave of thoughts. Umbai it is...

Thus, besides the normal spread of seafood such as multiple type of fishes being grilled, steamed and cooked, we had fried squid, prawns and mussels as well besides the national favourite of nasi lemak.

However, me and hubby sensed a different in a few menu. For example, the buttered prawn ordered usually will be fried only with butter and look plain, but this time they add nestum in it. It added the flavour to the dish and you can almost hear the crunch in it. Besides, the prawns were super fresh and it's being cooked perfectly. Not dry and not raw as well.

Secondly, the mussels with chillies is a must dish for me and hubby every time we come here. To be specific, this stall No. 5 served a perfect dish of mussel. The mussels are fresh, cooked perfectly (again), and the sizes are usually big and voluptuous. Once you sink your teeth into it, the mussels will compliment your taste bud interestingly. The spicy gravy with a hint of sweet and sour covered the mussels all over, more like glazing the mussels.

The shop owner had a chit chat with us asking about our opinion on the dishes. Once we expressed our opinion, he confided that he actually had a new cook joined their team. Thus the differences in taste and presentation.

It's a good change, we like it and so does the family. It's going to be worth every penny to have repeating dinner here.
